Join Caroline Thompson, writer and director of Black Beauty, for a script-to-screen that explores adaptations, directing your own script, and crafting a powerful period piece. Based the Anna Sewell novel, one of the most beloved animal stories since its publication in 1877, Thompson will walk through the film’s journey from screenplay to major motion film, detailing the story’s evolution, what changed for production (and why), and lessons learned along the way.
